Castor oil is dense in nature and can be difficult to wash off easily. As a tip to make it easier than normal, you can crack an egg and whisk until smooth and then massage the egg into the scalp. This helps break down the oil and also add additional nutrients to the hair. It is can get messy though, so it would better doing this in the shower.
